Our People

Sean Elliot Managing Director

With 27 years IT industry experience, Sean has strong technical management skills with proven experience in defining IT strategy and infrastructure. He possesses the ability to communicate technology concepts and ideas with both technical staff and senior management/executive.  Having served a 16 year career with the Scottish Life Assurance Company, Sean left there in 2003 to fulfil a long held ambition to establish and run his own business.  With strong beliefs in hard work, determination to achieve objectives and relentless pursuit of high quality client services, Sean has built an excellent team at Network ROI to achieve his vision of the way technology services should be delivered to the SMB and SME markets.

Sean is married with 2 sons and lives in Musselburgh. His long suffering wife has spent 24 years living with a petrolhead, technology enthusiast, music fan, infinite usage of the phrase “I’m just leaving the office now”, endless supposedly entrepreneurial ideas and to cap it all, Sean’s even attempting to take golf a bit more seriously (only a bit though).

Neil Douglas Project Delivery Manager

Neil started life in IT while serving in the Royal Engineers Corp of the British Army for 13 years. On leaving the Royal Engineers and transitioning his career to the private sector, he took up a position with an IT company where he worked for four years. Neil joined Network ROI in early 2011 as a Senior Engineer.

Within a few months of joining Neil was promoted to Project Delivery Manager where he is responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of all client projects.

Neil is the main point of contact for the client once a project has been given the go-ahead and he manages the transition from the signed off design and specification through to completion by the project team.  Neil’s skills, experience, tenacity and work ethic help ensure project success and client satisfaction.

Working closely with the Network ROI’s Service Delivery Manager to provide the highest service levels, Neil still gets his hands dirty with engineering tasks, Helpdesk issues and assisting in the continuous training and development of engineers.

Outside of work, Neil is married with 3 young children and a dog so he is always kept busy!

Keith Barbour Business Development Director

Keith joined Network ROI as Business Development Director in 2009.  Having had a successful career in marketing and business development Keith has an open and friendly attitude with no sales bravado, bringing exactly the right experience to the role.

Keith’s roots lie in Scottish and Newcastle Breweries as a young Brand Manager and then Sales Promotions Manager for the group.  He then set up a sales promotion and marketing consultancy which he developed and ran for 15 years before it was bought by a major international marketing company.

Married with three children, Keith is a keen sportsman, often playing football and tennis as well as being seen regularly golfing on the links of North Berwick.  He is also a keen choral singer and participates in the annual local pantomime production, sometimes playing the dame!

Ian Batty Senior Solutions Architect

Ian has grown up with computer technology since he persuaded his father that a Sinclair ZX81 was absolutely vital for advancing his school work.  After obtaining a degree in Mechanical and Production Engineering, Ian took a PGCE in teaching and embarked upon an eight year career as a teacher of IT, Design Technology and Physics.  He then took on a three year IT training role where he taught courses in networking and Microsoft technologies.

Looking for a change of direction in 2003, Ian moved into the IT support services business.  Joining Network ROI in late 2006, Ian’s skills and experience have seen him develop his career to his current role of Senior Solutions Architect, a role which is essential to the core aim of the company – to ensure that clients are able to achieve a return on their IT investment.

As clients’ need to change or expand their IT systems, Ian’s role is to understand the business requirements and translate these into technology infrastructure and solutions options.  With a breadth and depth of experience built up over many years coupled with the “bridging” skills to explain various options in understandable terms, Ian ensures clients are able to make informed decisions that are right for their company.

Shaun Brannan Procurement Systems Manager

Shaun has in excess of 15 years of experience in the IT industry.  Specialising in procurement and management of associated back office systems and processes, he ensures that all quotes and orders, small or complex are processed efficiently and correctly.  Shaun’s wide ranging product and supplier knowledge means that he is able to advise on and specify the right software, hardware and associated services as well as ensuring Network ROI can offer competitive pricing.

As a Microsoft Licensing Sales Expert he guides and advises clients through the complexities of software licensing and compliance requirements.  Software licencing and asset management is an area of increasing scrutiny with major suppliers such as Microsoft actively requesting licence compliance information from organisations large and small.

A passionate football supporter, Shaun has a biting sense of wit and could well have carved a career in written humour in another life.

David Steel Service Delivery Manager

David started his career in the IT industry in 2000 as a junior engineer and joined Network ROI in 2009.  As a Senior Engineer at Network ROI, David demonstrated great organisational and customer service skills and was promoted to Service Delivery Manager in 2011.  Coupled with a growing aptitude for team leadership, David has a variety of technical certifications and qualifications providing him with exactly the right mix of knowledge and experience to manage an operational team of engineers and be a key liaison point for clients in terms of their service from Network ROI.

His key responsibilities include management of Network ROI’s Helpdesk team, ensuring that clients receive consistently high levels of service and overall management of our Helpdesk ticketing system.   With proactive management of the team and ticket queues, David ensures that resources are assigned to resolve critical issues as a priority, service level agreements are met and clients’ IT and telecoms environments are managed proactively.

David works closely with our Project Delivery Manager to ensure that Project Delivery and Service Delivery run smoothly side-by-side.

Outside of work David is a keen surfer and enjoys outdoor sporting activities as well as camping – he dreams of owning a VW Camper so that he can take off at weekends to catch some waves!
