Project Engineer

Duties and Responsibilities

  •        Maintain, promote, and encourage the highest levels of service.
  •        Attend new/updated service, systems, and client related/ based training (onsite/offsite as required)
  •        Encourage and support colleagues with an array of issues and queries as required.
  •        Ensure effective communication with colleagues whilst working in a team and independently

 

Key Duties

Maintain knowledge in the following:

  • Microsoft Technologies – not limited to but including Windows Server, Office 365, Microsoft Azure Stack (Entra ID, Intune etc), Remote Desktop Services along with an understanding of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP etc
  • Backup Deployments – not limited to but utilising Veeam Backup & Recovery, N-ABLE Cove
  • Networking – an understanding of LAN, WAN, VPN & VLAN networking with experience in network infrastructure such as but not limited to Fortinet, Ubiquiti, HP, Meraki etc
  • Virtualisation – Hyper-V & VMWare
  • VoIP Systems – experience in VoIP based telephony would be advantageous
  • Travel to site for both project and break/fix related work when required
  • Remote & on-site project work – installation & configuration of various infrastructure, applications, networking, and endpoint solutions
  • Work to strict budgets, carry out work on time and identify efficiencies which can be implemented to streamline operations on an ongoing basis
  • Provide support and input to Service Desk and Pre-Sales Operations as required
  • Create & maintain thorough system documentation (progress & final) when delivering project
  • Identify & encourage operational improvements for the mutual benefit of your co-workers, the company & clients
  • May be required to work evenings and weekends
  • Maintain a valid UK driving licence
  • Continually seek opportunities to increase client satisfaction and deepen client relationships
  • Adhere to relevant Health & Safety procedures and identify any Health & Safety issues & raise with your line manager
  • Any other duties which contribute to the smooth running of the department and ongoing improvement of the overall business
